Morgan Henderson-Kunz 100M Free Junior National Champion!

Five swimmers made the Thunderbolts proud at the USA Swimming Junior Nationals in August in Indianapolis, IN. Morgan Henderson-Kunz led the way winning the 100M freestyle with a meet record time of 50.84. He also added a new USA Summer National Qualifying time in the 50 free while Connor McCarroll added one in the 200Bk. The swimmers set 2 New OSI Records, 3 New Team Records, and the boys finished 10th, 11th and 21st in their three relays helping them finish 13th overall out of 361 teams.

Thunderbolts Put On The Morgan-Morgon Show at USA Swimming Nationals

The Tualatin Hills Swim Club has gotten used to Morgan Scroggy, now 18 and University of Georgia bound, leading the club over the last few years being an Olympic Trials qualifier since she was sixteen. This summer another 16 year old Morgon Henderson-Kunz stepped up to pick up the Olympic Torch for the club. Three team mates, Kara Nelson Mackenzie Luick and Jordan King joined them at the big dance of swimming, the USA Summer Nationals in August.

They set three new team records. The 15-16 Boys 100 Free record was set by Morgon Henderson-Kunz with a time of 51.32. The 17-18 and Open Girls 100 Back were set by Morgan Scroggy with a time of 1:03.89. Both of these times qualify for swims at the Olympic Trials next summer!
