Three-game win streak ends at hands of Yeowomen

FOREST GROVE - Pacific saw their three-game home winning streak snapped in a close, high scoring affair Monday as the Boxers fell to Oberlin 22-20 in womenıs lacrosse action at Lincoln Park Stadium.
Johannah Wong (Fr., Oregon City, Ore.) led the Boxers in scoring with four goals. Close behind with three goals apiece were Abby Coleman (So., Beaverton, Ore.), Lilia Lee (So., Waimanalo, Hawaii) and Mimi Takamune (So., Mililani, Hawaii). Lori Hanken (Fr., Oregon City, Ore.) and Natalie Getchell (Fr., Beaverton, Ore.) each added two goals and Shanlyn Souza (Jr., Koloa, Hawaii), Molly Bailey (Fr., St. Helens, Ore.) and Stephanie Manning (Fr., Hillsboro, Ore.) each scored one.
The Yeowomen (1-2) were led by Taylor Fey who scored 10 goals. Scarlett Prati also shot her way to six goals while Dana Rich, Elizabeth Gula and Caitlin Barrer each added two goals.
In the first half the Boxers and Yeowomen traded goals until about ten minutes left of the half when Oberlin took control offensively. After the 10-minute mark Prati scored a pair of goals and Fey added one to stretch the Yeowomenıs lead, 9-5. Lee and Coleman each scored a goal to decrease Pacificıs deficit at half time with a score of 10-7.
Pacific started the second half out strong with Lee, Manning and Hanken each earning a goal to tie the game at 10-10 and Getchell added one more goal to put the Boxers ahead. The Yeowomen turned it up offensively scoring four goals in a row regaining their lead, 14-11.
Pacific and Oberlin traded goals in the middle of the half. The Boxers did not go away quietly as Wong got a quick score with 10 minutes left in the half followed by a pass by Souza to Takamune for another score and another goal by Wong tied the game up at 17-17. Pacific and Oberlin traded goals again until Fey scored three unanswered goals, sealing the deal for the Yeowomen.
Pacific will be back in action Wednesday at 2 p.m. as they will host Potsdam at Lincoln Park Stadium. Oberlin will play on Wednesday at Linfield.
