CHINESE PROFESSIONAL BASKETBALL TEAM—THE BEIJING DUCKS TO VISIT BEND TO PLAY AGAINST THE CENTRAL OREGON HOTSHOTS THIS SUNDAY

Portland, OR—The Central Oregon Hotshots will host the Beijing Ducks—a professional basketball team from the Chinese Basketball Association. The Chinese Basketball Association is the same league that produced NBA player Yao Ming. This game will occur on Sunday September 21 st at 5:00pm @Athletic Club of Bend gym. Tickets for this game will be available at the door for $5 per person (children 5 and under will be free)

TWO FEATURED HOTSHOTS · 6’ 3” Combo Guard Cliff White played in 23 games for Central Oregon averaging 18.0 points, 5.2 assists and 4.7 rebounds per game. White was arguably one of the best defenders in the IBL and along with Terry Horton was an IBL All Star representing Central Oregon (left photo below).
· 6’ 6” Forward Jadae Bonds averaged 14 points & 6 rebounds per game however—after finally earning a starting spot for the final 2 games of 2008, Bonds put up big numbers—20 points & 10 rebounds followed by 22 points & 10 rebounds in the Hotshots two playoff games (including a Hotshots victory in the first round). Jadae Bonds (right photo below) is expected to have a breakout season in 2009.

ANOTHER PLAYER TO CATCH THIS SUNDAY · 6’ 10” Center Dean Brown will play for the Hotshots on Sunday. Hotshots fans may remember Brown playing for the USA All Stars and putting up a great number of dunks on his way to scoring 40 points against the Hotshots in a home loss for the Hotshots. Dean Brown was then signed by the Hotshots for a game the very next night (a 123 to 120 win versus Portland). Brown is inbetween a basketball job in South America and in fact, is looking to impress the Beijing Ducks and perhaps get signed by the Ducks.
