EUGENE, Ore. -- A 6-0 second-half run pushed the California Golden Bears past the Oregon Ducks on Sunday afternoon in Eugene.

With the win, California improved to 7-4 overall and 4-0 in Mountain Pacific Sports Federation play.  Oregon fell to 5-7 overall and 0-3 in the conference.

Junior Shannon Propst, who now has 57 career assists, set a new career-high in the assists category (4) in the loss.  By doing so, Propst passed Ilsa van den Berg (54 career assists) for fifth place on Oregon's all-time assists list and tied Jen May (57), now an assistant coach for the Ducks, for fourth all-time.  Propst added a goal on the day as well to give her a career-best five points.

Additionally, freshman Carly O'Connell scored a career-high four goals, dished out three assists and ended the day with seven points, the highest output of her young career.

Another career milestone for Oregon was posted by junior defender Erika McCool, who caused a career-best four turnovers.

California was led by 2012 MPSF Player of the Year Megan Takacs, who scored four goals, had five draw controls and scooped up two ground balls.

The Ducks trailed 5-3 at the break after taking two one-goal leads (2-1 and 3-2) in the opening frame.  In the second, California rattled off the first two goals to take a 7-3 advantage.  The Golden Bears led 8-4 with 23:53 to go, but Oregon went on a 2-0 run thanks to goals bySami Kiser and O'Connell that made it an 8-6 game with 21:15 to go.

But an Oregon red card at the 20:38 mark in the second half gave California a two-minute unreleasable man-up advantage.  Takacs took advantage of the opportunity and scored two man-up goals to push the lead back up to four, 10-6, with 19:36 left.

The Bears scored the next four as well, courtesy of Melissa Humphrey and Takacs to grab an eight-goal edge (14-6), with 7:52 remaining in the game.

Oregon closed the gap to four by day's end thanks to three goals by O'Connell and one by sophomore Devon Frazer.

California won the draw control battle (15-11) and had 14 ground balls to Oregon's eight.  Oregon took three fewer shots than California (28-25) but committed just 10 turnovers to the Bears' 17.  In addition, California converted five of its seven free position attempts, while the Ducks went 2-of-5.

The Ducks next take the field on Wednesday (April 10) at Fresno State.  The opening draw from Fresno, Calif., is scheduled for 1 p.m.
